Wow! Is it really already 2012, and did I really just turn 29, and will me daughter really be 2 in only a few short months!!! It's true, and I love it! It has been months since I have posted on my personal blog. The Fall and early December months were very busy! Lots of photos in the fall colors, and family photos for Christmas cards.

Miss Avayah is 20 months old going on 9. She thinks she is a little Diva!

It is amazing how in love kids can be with the park. Whenever we pass one driving Avayah is sure she lets us know by yelling Weeeeeeee. She LOVES swinging. I dont think she would ever stop swinging if it wasnt for us making her.

A nap is the best way to end a fun afternoon at the park. I still can't beleive how big she is. She use to look so small in her crib. She now looks like such a big girl! She will be ready for her big girl bed soon! ....tear.....

Such small things can make a parents heart gleam with joy - while slightly filling eyes with tears, and smiling bigger than you ever knew you could smile.

This past week Avayah gave Andy and I our very first Kiss. It was amazing! She leaned in and with her little lips puckered perfectly she made the biggest muha sound. Daddy has never been so happy. He always said he couldnt wait for the day that she would kiss him back with a real kiss. So precious so loved, we are so lucky to have this beautiful girl in our lives!

Avayah also learned how to look at the camera and say Cheeeeeeese with a big camera ready smile!!! Could I be anymore happy! Finally I got a few photos of her face! She ususally faces her back to me while mommy paparazzi is snapping away. YES for the corny cheeeeese photos!!!!

Another hot day.

I have been eagerly awaiting the warm weather so we could wear our summer clothes, splash in the pool and color the driveway with a rainbow of chalk.

Well we have had warm weather here in Wisconsin the past few days, I should say we have had HOT weather. Mid 90's and humid! Avayah and I played outside a lot of the weekend, she learned to color beautiful scribbles on the cracked driveway. Mommy drew Avayah's favorite things on the diveway. (I think I have use up most the chalk! FUN!) We have a cat, flowers, bunny and her name beautifully on displayed for all passer bye's to see. ;-) Avayah was covered in chalk and has a nice powdery chalk butt. I love it!

Someone found her nah-night. She adores her blanket. This blanket makes all good in Avayah's world. Oh if life was that easy. I think I need to find myself a blanket that makes all good.

Momorial Day was HOT! After the long drive home from the cabin, we had to enjoy the warm weather outside. I filled up the tiny pool we have and put Avayah's suit on. It was so cute. She on the other hand didnt care much for it. She kept patting her belly as if she was missing something.

Avayah is now 1 year, 1 month and 1 week old. TIME FLYS! I know I always say this. It is so incredible the new things she pulls out of her back pocket everyday. New words, understanding exactly what I am saying to her by responding with a strict "NO!" when she does not want anymore applesauce, but strongly points at the banana on the counter saying "nana....nana", and nodding her bald head up and down fast. She definitely knows what she wants and how to get it. She is turning into a little girl who loves being outside. She loves the flowers we planted around the house and the bird feeder that hangs on our deck. When birds fly to it she points and loudly says, "Oooo, Oooo". She loves the baby doll the auntie Bri and uncle jake gave her for her birthday, and best of all she loves to cuddle. Mommy LOVES this. Saturday mornings cuddling on the couch with a blanket and cartoons, evenings after dinner and a bath curled up on the couch until she dreaming sweet dreams. I love these times, and would never trade them for anything!

Time....

It goes so fast. We truly have to be grateful for what we have.

It has been two weeks now since the pups have left, and we are finally starting to adjust.

Avayah will be 11 months old next week. I cannot believe she has been a part of our lives for almost a year already. It is crazy to think that only a year ago it was just Andy and I, but then again it is crazy to think just a year ago it was only the two of us? What was life without the most amazing thing in it? There really is no way to explain what having a child is like. The love that grows deeper and deeper everyday, when you wonder how could I love this little person anymore than I do right now. It is the most amazing thing in the world.

There are so many things I want to instill in Avayah's heart and soul. As a Mother you want only the best for your children. You wish for them to grow into beautiful people. Happy. Caring. Respectful. Loving. A Dreamer, and to reach for those dreams with all that they have.

The day has come to say goodbye

Angel and Scooter have a new home. A wonderful home! After posting an ad we had a few responses from people looking for puppies. Angel and Scooter are still puppies in our eyes, but to others they are old. "6 years!" they'd say. (not like I had already put that in the ad or anything) It was a horribly said day. Way worse than I could have ever expected. (I am doing all I can to be strong while writing this. I have not cried all day, and am so happy about that!)

The day started off as normal. Avayah pounding on her crib side and letting out little squeaks as if to say, come on Dada, I am awake. Andy is always the one to get her up in the morning. Mommy is a lazy, and takes advantage of the extra 10mins of sleep! After Andy gets Avayah you can hear the pups making there morning noises from the basement saying, we wanna eat let us out! The pounding starts as they are tromping up the basement stairs, and to their food bowls. It takes them only seconds to inhale their food, and they are ready to go outside. After a quick bathroom break they bolt for the bedroom, where.....um yes I still am (on weekends that is). They burrow as fast as they can into the bed as if they haven't slept for days and are freezing. After they take up most of the room in the bed I finally get up to greet my baby girl. After hearing her up and giggling with Dada how could I sleep any longer. Coffee in hand baby playing on the floor. Life is good. We had a few hours until we had to pack the pups things up, and hit the road so Life was good.

The few hours came faster than expected. Andy took their kennel apart and packed up their treats, brushes, water bowl and leashes. We all loaded into the truck on the road to Beloit. I think it only took us about 3 miles until I noticed the odd silence coming from Andy's side. Could it be? Is he crying? My goodness he was. That is all it took for me, as I broke out in tears. The entire 55 minute drive we both cried.

After pulling off the exit I told Andy I was not going to be able to go in with him and the pups. I was a mess. We pulled into Mike's driveway, and loved what we saw. A beautiful home with a big yard! He took the dogs out of the back, and Mike greeted him outside. He told him I was a not able to come in, and he totally understood. Mike had just put down his Beagle a few weeks back, and completely understood the feeling. They went into the house to let the pups adjust to their new home. Shortly after Avayah awoke and was ready to get out of her car seat. I build up enough strength to go in. What a great place. So much room and carpet. The pups are going to love it I thought. Andy ran outside to get the rest of their things, and Mike said that we could take them back at anytime, because he totally understand. If I am not mistaken he started to cry as well. Oh God help me! That is totally not what I expected.

Angel and Scooter were all over. So much to sniff and explore. We said our goodbye's as much of a goodbye as I could say as I could no longer see the dogs through my water-filled eyes, and out we went. Down the road we go, no more pups looking out the window. We both were in shock. Is this really true? Are they gone? Forever? No more of Scooter's big brown eyes peering up at you as if he were saying, ah Momma, can I have just one more treat, or Angel's dance she'd do as you filled her dog bowl with food.

It was such a empty feeling. It felt like a death. Thank God it was not. They are with a wonderful man, in a big house. He is so excited to have them to cuddle with on the couch, take for runs, and sleep with at night. He lives alone, and will be able to give them all the attention in the world.

Here is the reason for all this sadness.

After having Avayah we noticed Angel was not a big fan of another person in our pack. She is a very dominate dog, and we always (sort) of knew this was going to be an issue when we had kids. We just hoped it would be the opposite, and she'd be protective of the babies. We did what was best for the pups and Avayah. They were getting less attention from us, and Angel was spending too many hours locked on the stairs because she would growl at Avayah.

All-in-all this was a great thing, we are so lucky to have found a wonderful person who loves dogs, and has always had dogs. He told us he would keep us updated and we could visit whenever we'd like.

We love them so much, and will always remember the good times we had. They were our first babies. 6 years is a long time, we have been through a lot with them. I have cried to them so many (many) times, they were the first ones to hear of my pregnancy, I was home alone and in shock after reading the positive stick, and we celebrated, little did they know what was to come of that. Well you get the point.

I will quick rambling on. And share a few photos of them pups.

The emotion that keep hitting me is that I failed. That we just gave up on them. How could you just take them to a new place and leave. I can just see Scooter waiting at the door waiting for use to come back in. I am not worried about Angel. She has always been more of the dominate one, so not much phases her, as long as she is feed and pet she is happy, but Scooter is sensitive, and loving and needs attention and his Mommy. :(

Avayah is now 10 months old. Only two more months until she is 1. I can hardly believe it! This time has flown by. I definitely miss her being a tiny baby, but I do enjoy the bigger girl side of her too. She can be so funny at times. Check out her great faces. :)

I quietly open the door to check on Vayah and there she is standing patiently nuk in mouth and blankie in hand waiting for Mommy to swipe her out of her crib. What a love she is!

Happy Love Day

It feels so good to be blogging again. I am having a hard time getting around to keeping this blog up to date. I think some of it has to do with the feelings of guilt. That I should be working on outstanding projects, the laundry, or putting the dishes away. Well it is Monday night, and I am onto my fourth (if you count training) week back to work. It is a great feeling to be back, a very rewarding, accomplishing one. Yes I am stressed since we are at the ground level with the company, but everyday things get a little better. I miss Avayah more than words can say. I miss our cuddle time we use to have before her naps, and our spontaneous shopping trips, with only twenty dollars to spend, or only enough money for mommy to get a coffee at the bookstore. Avayah didn't care, as long as she could crawl from bookshelf to bookshelf looking at and touching the colorful baby books, or throwing the stuffed animals on the ground. I do have to say the cup of coffee I got was rarely finished. Just the warm cup and sips of sweet mocha here and there were a treat enough for me.

Avayah loves going to daycare everyday. Her caregivers name is Dana. She is an amazing woman. Very nurturing, loving and silly. All of mommy, daddy and Avayah's favorites. We visited 5 daycare's, Dana's being the first, and ended up going with her hands down.

Things are good in life. I am soo happy. I have the best husband and best baby girl! Everyday morning I am more excited to see my baby, how does a love like this keep growing, when you already thought you couldn't love anymore than you are. It is an amazing thing, and amazing feeling. I am so thankful for the wonderful family I have, have been given through marriage, and started on our own. Love is an awesome thing, and the "All you need is Love" song is so very true.

Too long - too busy

Way too long.

I think about this blog everyday, and wish I could spend more time updating it. I am finally giving in. It is 1:30 in the morning and I just finished editing and uploading my beautiful cousin's family photos, and designing a birthday card for a little guy who is turning 2 in December. This time of year is a tad crazy with lots of family photo shoots, editing, Christmas cards and photos for gifts. I haven't even given my own families cards a thought. I do have Avayah's outfit for the photo though. I purchased that months ago! :) (I like to shop!)

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving back home. We spend the afternoon at my Dad's house, then the evening at Andy's parents house. I missed not being able to make it to my Mom's house though. :( It gets to be a lot of places to go around the holiday's, and with a baby it makes it even harder. Avayah did good though. She has turned into a pretty good girl. As long as you keep her entertained she is happy. I am just so thankful we have such wonderful families we are able to spend holidays with!

After the two newborn photo shoots I did last weekend. I can't believe how big my little girl is. 7 months old is soooo much bigger than 7 days old. It is so true what people say. It goes so fast!

It is so fun to see her grow into such a beautiful little toddler, but sometimes I want that tiny little ball of a baby to curl up on my chest again. Hopefully someday that will happen again, but not anytime soon!

Baby still?

My baby is growing up. I treasure nap time when I can snuggle up with her on the couch, and hold her until she wakes up. One of the best advantages of being a stay-at-home Mom. I have to say she is a tad spoiled in that area. Not to mention she is still in her bassinet next to me at night. Oh how I want her to sleep there forever.

Avayah has learned to roll instead of crawl. She seems to be able to roll to where she wants to be. When she is on her belly and tries to crawl she get frustrated. We are working on it though. If she had balance she would already be walking!

Sorry I haven't been able to update the blog in almost a month. Photos are crazy busy this time of year, and I am doing all I can to get family photos done so people can order cards and prints for Christmas! :)

Last weekend Avayah and I traveled back to Baldwin for photoshoots and a Shower/Bach party. It was a busy weekend!! All the Grandparents got to see Avayah, including Great Grandma Marson!! I wish we could have had more time with her though :(

Friday morning we visiting a high school friend and her 2 year old and 4 month old. It was fun to have the girls together and also a little adult talk too. I don't get much of that these days.

I am bad. I never put Avayah's 4 month photos up! I think because I was so busy I did them real fast, and didn't give them much thought. Anyways here they are. FYI She was 5 months on Sept 19th. WOW. Time goes so fast. I can't believe she has almost been in our lives for half a year already!

Morning at the Dog Park

We have finally gotten our dogs up to date on all shots, allergy meds etc etc. We can now go to the dog park!!! YEAH!!!!

A few miles from Cottage Grove there is a beautiful dog park in the country on a little river. Angel and Scooter loved it. They ran, and swam and ran and ran and ran. It felt so good to let them just be dogs!

Avayah decided she is ready to sit big girl style in her stroller. She loves it. Hasn't fussed on a run or walk since!

A high school friend of mine lives in the area. She had a little boy 2 months about. Avayah now has a friend, and I guess I do too. We don't know anyone in the area so it is nice to meet up with another mommy and her babe! I can't wait till the two of them can crawl around together. Right now Cash lays nicely on the blanket, while Avayah tries to roll him over or add a few scratches to his face. He makes her look so big....my baby is growing up!!!

Last Sunday we had a family day out. We went to the free Zoo here in Madison. Avayah loved it, even though many of the animals weren't out for some reason. She just likes being out and about with all the people and commotion.

Daddy turns 30!

The past few days have been full of fun events!

Daddy turned 30. Our 3 year anniversary, and Avayah turned 4 months old.

We took a little trip to Racine WI to celebrate, and stayed on lake Michigan. Our room was huge, way to big for the 3 of us. This was Avayah's first hotel stay, and well vacation I guess. We didnt do anything crazy, ate our dinner and amazing dessert in our room while watching a movie and having a glass of wine. Sunday we went to the WI Fair. Avayah loved watching all the people. She was so good! Andy had fun playing the games. He said he had to win prizes for his baby.

We are off to Baldwin for Briana's baby shower. We are excited to go back and see everyone again.

Ears!!!

We finally did it. Andy and I had gone to the mall a few times to get Avayah's ears pierced, and ended up chickening out every time. Andy was so worried she would scream bloody murder, and then we would have those people... judging us. Well we finally did it! My baby girl is sporting diamonds (her birthstone) in her ears.

We had it done at Claire's. Avayah was sleeping at when we arrived. She slept through the lady cleaning her ears, and marking them with the marker where she was going to pierce. After that we woke her up and placed her in my lap. I held her hands so that she wouldn't get them in the way. As the lady was pulling the gun up to Avayah I saw Andy bold into the hallway (thanks daddy) He said he was sick to his stomach he was so scared. Then SNAP...the first earring was in. Avayah jumped a little, and sort of whined. The second gun was up right after and SNAP number two was in. Avayah let out a sad cry, and Daddy came over and grabbed her out of my arms. Within seconds she was smiling at Daddy and herself in the mirror. Done....it was over like that. No screams no tears (not even from Mommy, though my heart was beating a mile a minute!) When it was time to leave the mall we placed Avayah in her car seat and she screamed and cried....she hates her car seat much more than getting her ears pierced. I am so glad this is over with and I don't have to do it when she is older and actually scared.

She has been fine since. Now mommy just needs to keep them super clean!

I just wanted to let you know that I have broken my own rule. I do not use the standard flash that is on my camera and post the photos, but I was to lazy to put the big one on for these quick snaps. And she is all full of drool too, whoops! That's my true babe!

Last day

Today was Avayah's last day with Amy. I was actually very sad. It is hard to leave your baby with a complete stranger,and once you trust her and know your daughter is starting to learn her, it is hard to just take it away. Her beautiful daughter Chloe always seemed so excited when we'd come through the door in the morning. When I'd pick to pick her up she'd ask "will she be crawling next time I see her" (Chloe will be 4 soon). She was such a joy to see in the mornings.

I worked at the coffee shop today on wedding photos, until I couldn't take how cold it was and left. I picked up Avayah a little earlier than normal since I was so close to Amy's house. It is strange that she has only been going to Amy's for a few weeks, but I was sad. I just wanted to give her a big hug and say Thank You!

On our way home we stopped at a couple garage sales. Our town was littered with them. I purchased a few items for photo use. I also purchased a few old crates from a lady off of craig's list today. She also does photography, and is slowly starting to get out of it. I told her to contact me anytime she would like to sell things. The crates are great. One is an old apple crate, with the label still on it. I love it!

After daddy came home we did a quick family photo shoot. My mom is putting together a family photo collage, and we had yet to get a good family photo. They turned out good, all but for Miss Avayah not smiling. She smiles all the time now, but she had nobody in-front of her to smile at. Oh well. There will be more, many more :)

3 month photos

I have been falling behind of Miss Avayah monthly photos. Last weekend my Mom, Bruce and Bella came down to stay. Emily (Bruce's oldest) had orientation. She will be attending UW Madison. I am thrilled she chose this college since we live in Madison!!! Saturday evening we did Bella's 7 year old photo and Avayah's 3 month photo. I love taking photos of Bella, because she is so in love with having her photos taken. She is the perfect little model. Avayah is really into smiling now. You can just about get a big gummy smile every time you try. She is turning into a happy baby! Thank you Jesus!

Andy was away Sunday - Tuesday for work. Tuesday ended up being a pretty crappy day. I received a call from my day job. They told me that they no longer needed my work, and that they didn't think that the working remotely thing was working efficiently. So I cried a little....ok a lot. I just sucks to hear those words. You feel so unwanted, unappreciated. Soon after the call a spiral of thoughts filled my head. How are we going to live on just one income, we can't afford daycare or the vehicle etc etc. I am so thankful I started my photography business a few years back. I have only been doing this part-time, very part-time. Andy and I talked and we are going for it...or I am that is. Andrea Larson Photography is going to be my new full-time job. It is going to be hard at first but I hope that since I have more time and my weekdays open I can fill more sessions. We will need to advertise more in the Madison WI area so I dont have to travel back home for every shoot. I love doing the session at home, and am very grateful for them, but I need to find clients in my area now too. If anyone knows families in the area I would be so thankful if you could help spread the word. Word of mouth is always the best! I am also willing to offer any new Madison clients a great discount just to get thing going here.

Tomorrow will be Avayah's last day at Amy's house. I am sad. I think she really enjoyed the girls there and was very comfortable with Amy. She wasnt there long, but it was great while it lasted. I will now be a full-time stay at home mommy, doing photography.

It was nice spending the day with my little love. I had called and canceled daycare for today since I didnt think I would be getting back from Baldwin until today. So I was able to spend a lot of quality time with Avayah.

After my doctor appointment this morning we returned a few items at Old Navy, and scored a few clearance items, then walked around Kohls until she was ready for a bottle. We came home and Avayah napped while I got work done for Snap. We then hit the road for a little more shopping. We were out of the basics....diapers, wipes, formula you know the fun stuff!! After target we went to Babies R Us to check out the clearance racks. We got a few things for cousin Heuston and a new outfit for Avayah. She is just about outgrown all her 0-3 month clothes and is ready to start wearing her 3-6 month ones. It is fun to dig into a new wardrobe for her.

Daddy had to work late (real late, he just got home and it's 10:00pm) so we decided to try cereal for supper. I set Avayah up in her highchair for the first time and spooned her up some yummy organic baby cereal. She wasnt sure of it at first, but started to pick it up after awhile. I am pretty sure we got more on her body than in her tummy. Here are a few pictures of Avayah's first food!

Avayah and I are back home after an 8 day stay in Baldwin.

Last Thursday my computer decided it needed to take a nice long vacation at the apple store. What bad timing it had. I had a large project due for Snap on Friday. I wasn't too worried knowing all would be OK since I was good at backing up my work to my external hard drive. So off Avayah and I went to G-ma and Papa Ashlin's house so I could go into the office and work. After getting to work on Monday (in Chanhassen MN) I was setup with a backup computer to finish my work. Come to find out my external hard drive decided it needed to take a break as well and wouldn't pull any of my data up to the computer..... :( ...... what a day....what a week. Boo.

I am so thankful for a wonderful mother that dropped everything to take Avayah while I spent the days in Chanhassen. Avayah was able to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Marson's too!

Friday night was my Grandma Fedie's 70th birthday, and we celebrated it at my Mom's with the whole crew. Fun times!

Saturday was a beautiful day!!! Finally a mental break. I photographed Erin McConaughey
and Aaron Benson's beautiful wedding. My best photo buddy Megan joined in the fun and showed me a few of her best wedding tips. Andy and I stayed through the dance while Grandma Jo and Grandpa Greg took Avayah for the night.

I am so thankful for the wonderful family we have. Avayah is such a lucky girl. She has the best Grandparents in the world! Thank you everyone!

10 week photos

Avayah started to try and roll over, well wouldn't you know the very first day she went to daycare she rolled over...I miss it! Boo. Oh and yes she started daycare this Tuesday. A wonderful lady named Amy takes her at her home. She watches an 18month old named Rachel and her own 3 year old Chloe. She has seemed to like it so far. When I dropped her off yesterday she loved to watch Rachel run around. I think she will begin to love playing with the two girls as she grows.

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend was Avayah's first trip up to the cabin. It is quiet a drive to Danbury from Madison. Andy had to do a bid for work on the way, so we had to take a little detour. The little detour ended up making our 6 hour trip into an 8 hour one. Ugh it really was horrible. We had no idea where we were most of the time, Avayah needed to be fed three times (so we had to make many stops), and the poor pups were so restless in their kennel. We made it though!!

Avayah was a pretty good girl with only a few fussy fits. She had her first dip in the river (which she hated!!!), first boat ride and baths in the sink. It is a little difficult to have such a little one up north. We spent most of the time in the cabin since it was sunny during the day and the evenings the mosquitos came out. The only problem with being in the cabin all day is there is no TV. Which is a good thing, we really dont need TV up north! I will make sure to bring magazines next time. :)

It is always nice to have Avayah be with her family. Briana and Jake are so good with her. They are going to be wonderful parents! I can't wait to meet their little guy!

5 weeks old and getting a personality

Or little Avayah has sure changed the the past 5 weeks. It is so amazing how fast little ones grow and learn. She has started smiling when you talk to her, and is trying her hardest to make noises. She gets a few coo's out, but is still learning. Just this week she decided she likes to lay under her play mat and star at the toys and mirror above. She also loves going for walks. She usually stays awake the entire time staring at whoever is pushing her. Amazingly she has slept through the night every night but one since last Monday! AMAZING! She knows her mommy likes to sleep, what a nice girl! :)

We spend most days feeding, burping, changing, playing, walking, photographing and when she is sleeping working for Snap. I have had to wait to get most work done when Andy gets home at night. I am redesigning another part of Snap Fitness' website, and this takes a lot of time and creativity so being able to sit down for a few hours with no distractions is a must. I also fit in Andrea Larson Photography in the evenings as well. It is a lot, but I love doing photography so much I make it work. We may see a babysitter in the future.

It is Memorial Day weekend this weekend, and Avayah will have her first trip up North to Larson's cabin! I purchased a few sun hats and a teeny tiny swimsuit. I told myself I did not need to spend money on a swimming suit for her since she more than likely will not be going in the water, but Children's Place had them on sale for $5.00. It is so cute on her! (Photos to come)

Avayah's First boating trip!

Saturday was a beautiful day, and Andy has been itching to get his fishing boat out on the lakes of Madison. I was a tad nervous to bring Avayah out, but decided to give it a try. It ended up being great. Avayah loved it, life jacket and all! We only lasted about an hour, but it was well worth the trip! Next weekend we will be packing up and heading up north.

Well Miss Avayah is 1 month old today! It feels like it has only been a week since we've brought her home. It is scary how fast time goes by!!!

We traveled back home last weekend. It was so nice to spend time with family and friends. Avayah was a pretty good girl, and loved all the love and attention she was given. It must have worn her out for she has slept through the night both Sunday, Monday and Tuesday night! I know this is NOT normal for a 4 week old. Here are a few photos taken today, at 1 month.

Doctor Appointment Update 40weeks 2days

Big doctor appointment today!!!!

So our wonderful doctor checked me (OUCH!), I am dilated to 1, a little softer but still long...baby is still very high. She said we could set the induction for next week since I will be 41 weeks on Wednesday. So Andy and I jumped on that!

I go in for a Non Stress Test Tuesday morning. Here they will monitor babies heart rate, movement and check fluid levels to make sure baby isn't under any stress. I will then have another normal check-up. If I have not shown any sign of softening or baby dropping I will need to come in Wednesday evening for ripening. I will then spend the night. If I dont need that I will come in at 7am on Thursday to start induction!

Here is the process of induction:

You will have an IV placed in your hand or arm before the start of the induction of labor.

Depending on your medical and pregnancy history, labor may be induced using medicine inserted into your vagina. This is necessary when the cervix is not yet "ripe" or soft and ready for contractions. This medicine may be started in the evening and continue through the night.

When your cervix is ripe, another medicine (oxytocin/Pitocin®) will be started through your IV; the "Pit" will be gradually increased until you are having good, strong contractions which are 3-4 minutes apart, lasting 40-60 seconds.

The goal of a labor induction is to match the pattern of natural labor as much as possible, although the latent (early) phase of labor may be much shorter.

Oh I pray she comes on her own and we dont have to do all this. This process sounds much longer, and so I have heard it is more painful. It is also a 50% chance of having a C-section because baby just isnt ready to come out!

40 weeks today...Full term!

So here we are April 14th our due date. Nothing feels out of the ordinary today accept this headache that keeps coming and going. I really want to go into labor naturally, but I think this little girl is much to happy in me, and has other plans.

I had to get out of the house today so I ran to the post office, subway and to a cute little store here in Cottage Grove. I think I freaked the ladies out a little when they asked me when I was due, and I said "Today!" The looks on their faces where that of shock, and what the heck are you doing here! They asked if my husband knew I was out and about...ha really? This store is one that has a little of everything, and is the perfect place to buy gifts, by that meaning things are not cheap. Since I have found out I was pregnant I have been eying up these cute little socks that look like shoes. I finally gave in and purchased them....I guess it's now or never. This is totally out of the norm for me. I am not sure I have paid full price for much of anything for this baby girl.

When I got home there was a package on the front steps. Oh I love surprises!! It was a gift for baby A from Great Grandpa Lyle and Jackie. Andy's grandparents. They send two cute red ladybug onesies with shorts, a white eyelet and lavender dress with bloomers and headband, two antique bells that go great in the nursery and the most adorable pair of tiny red shoes.

If nothing happens today or tomorrow my next appointment is on Friday. I am sure my doctor will set an induction date then. I will be back to post after that, unless baby A decides to come before! Thank you all for the wonderful gifts, thoughts and prayers these past 40 weeks. It really does go by fast. I can't believe it is already April 14th!

Oh yes and by the way the only clothes left to wear are my black stretchy workout pants and 1 long maternity tank top. Everything else is to hot or to short. The bottom of my belly hangs out....not a good look. I do see other pregnant people allowing themselves in public like this though, I guess they are to the point that they really don't care anymore! I totally get it!

I thought I would do an update today since I had a doctors appointment this morning. Well once again, nothing. Baby is not ready I guess. My next appointment is AFTER my due date...that is crazy, but maybe I wont make it!!! Wishful thinking.

I can defiantly tell she is growing. The room inside feels less and less every day! Her little butt likes to wedge up in my right rib and stay there.....for hours.

On a good note, my blood pressure was normal and I barely gained a pound, unlike the 3 I gained in one week at my last appointment. They said that they think it is all water weight....that seems crazy to me! My hands and feet really aren't swollen anymore which is nice! I did have some pretty good contractions last night. Andy and I went for a car ride, and to get DQ chocolate dipped ice cream cone, when I started having cramps. They were strong enough for me to freeze up and wait them through. After about 30mins of it they stopped. I think I freaked Andy out a bit though. It is cute.

Watch out BIG MOMMA is coming though....ahhhh. Look how round I am!

Well it sounds like baby girl is very happy in my belly, and is not showing any signs of wanting to come out and meet us.

My Mom, Bruce, Haley and Gabriella came to Madison for their spring break this week. My mom came with to my doctors appointment to meet the doctor. We were a tad late due to me getting pulled over on the way. What a nice police officer...he could see that I was hugely pregnant, and uncomfortable, never been pulled over before, and STILL gave me a ticket! Poo! After waiting an hour to see the doctor the nurses manager took us back to get things going. I have somehow gained 3 pounds in 1 week, and have had no appetite. She said it is probably water retention! AHH! My blood pressure seems to be creeping up every week and I am starting to have swollen hands and feet! They didn't say much about it so it must be ok still. If things get worse of my face starts to swell this is a sign of Preeclampsia...we dont want that, even though they would induce right away!

The doctor made her way in and did the normal check up, heart rate, fundal size etc. Welll this was not enough for my mom. She asked if she would check me! Oh course I was totally curious and wanted to know if the baby was showing signs of coming soon, but was not looking forward to the process of getting this information. My doctor has not done this yet, because I have not had any symptoms, no contractions or reasons to see if I am dilated. Well that was the case, I am not dilated, effaced and she has not dropped what so ever! I knew that considering she is still up in my ribs!!!! I am hoping she decides to start making her way down soon I really do not want to be induced at 41 weeks. Did you know that it is a 50% chance that you will have to have a c-section with induction! I did not know that! Well I am off to try and cool down. This 82 degree day is really making me hot!

Any bets on how big she will be? I feel like she is going to be a healthy size!!!!!

37 weeks and 2 days

The countdown has started! 19 days to go....or so. I think I am ready. I know Andy is. I am so big, and uncomfortable. I feel like I want to sleep all day, and be up all night. Not sure what this is all about, but I am trying to fix it before baby comes.

My bag is packed and by the door, the car seat is in the car and camera is charged. We chose a pediatrician this week. I guess a lot of people will interview different ones, but we just took the name our doctor recommended. I am not sure if I have said this in the past, but we LOVE our doctor! She is incredibly nice, down to earth, funny, a tad crazy, and when attending school at the U of M she was Goldie the Gopher!! How funny is that. I wish she could be our primary doctor for everything!

On Wednesday I received a package in the mail for baby A and I. It was a handmade blanket, and baby sling. Lindsay have I told you you rock! So thoughtful. I am a sucker for handmade items.

Well it is 9:00pm on a Friday night, us oldies are ready for bed. Lets hope this little girl is ready to come into our world soon.

One more week until I am considered full-term. If the baby is born before 37 week it is considered preterm - preemie, and anytime after 37 week it is full-term. I am guessing we will not be needing preemie clothes, thank goodness! I have a feeling our little girl is going to be a chunky one! Good and healthy!

I have had all, but one of my baby showers. My girlfriends had a shower for three of us prego ladies. It was at Brooke Campbell's new beautiful house. What a joy it always is to hang out with those ladies. I wish I could see them more! Thank you so much girls!!!

Great Grandma Marson knows what Andy likes. A badger dress!!! We had the Birthing center tour last night, and the instructor was showing us the handmade knit hats that ladies make for the newborns. She was going through the colors, and said they even have red badger ones....Andy had to ask if they made pink Badger ones for his little girl. Too cute!

Babies first photo shoot!

We had our 3D ultrasound done on Friday afternoon. It is so amazing to be able to see your babies features while still in the womb! Here are a few of the 100 photos we got!

We could not decide who she looked like more, and then it hit Andy, She looks like his brother DAREN! That is all I see now! I think this photo really looks like him. (sorry about the spelling in the photo it is en) So weird!

She was a little bit of a bugger for the photo shoot. She liked to face my spine, which made it very hard to get face shots, and she also had to have her hand touching her face at all times. She liked to suck on her arm and hand and pull on her ear! She is head down and her feet are up by my right rib. She already has rolls on her arms and neck and I still have a month and a half to go...she maybe a chunky monkey!

I would totally recommend this to anyone. What an amazing experience to see and fell her moving at the same time.

The place we went was called Stork Vision. The owner was the ultrasound tech, and was amazing. The package we bought was only suppose to be 20mins she let it go for and hour and a half! I could have stayed all day and watch our little girl move around. We got 100 photos and a full DVD of the entire session that we can watch over and over again. How fun for her to watch when she is older!

Slowly but surely we are getting to the end, and I am ready....well at least I think I am :) 8 weeks to go!!!!

I had my very first shower last Friday. It was a blast! Brooke Campbell, Pam Brorson and Abbey Duch throw a fabulous baby shower, with great food, fun games and great people! The shower was for two other girls as well. It was fun to share pregnancy stories with them and scare the rest of the non pregnant girls while doing it. :)

Here is what is going on at 32 week:

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.

(Oh I hope she has a lot of hair!)

So Friday is the big day! We have scheduled a 3D/4D Ultra sound at a local Sonogram place. I am so excited to see real live photos of this little girl (we better not find out it is a boy). I will be posting her first photo shoot here after! YAYA!

10 WEEKS TO GO!

I have finally hit 30 weeks. 10 more to go! Some days I totally feel ready for this little bundle of joy and other days it completely freaks me out!

I now go see the doctor every other week until 35 weeks then I will be going every week. Since our doctor has no reason to do another ultrasound, we have decided to pay to have a 3D ultrasound done at this place in town:

I really want to confirm that we are having a girl. I would feel horrible bringing a little boy home to all this pink! I also think it would be fun to see her little face, and compare it to when she is born. We are planning to do this in the next couple weeks, so be on the lookout for baby photos!

I am feeling great, big, but good. Sleep is getting a little harder, between going to the bathroom 4 times a night and getting comfortable it is hard. Just getting me ready for a crying baby in the night I guess. :)

Baby is moving a lot more now. I am pretty sure her head is up in my right rib cage. Sometimes I have to push her out of there. It gets a little uncomfortable. I hope she flips soon too!

Just now she is poking something into my right side elbow perhaps....wow!

Almost to 30 weeks....eek!

I had another doctor appointment today. All is going well. I am measuring at 31 weeks which freaked me out a little, but the doctor said that it is no big deal.

Little Miss Larson was not a fan of my doctor trying to find her heartbeat today. When she was moving the doppler around my left side she kicked it so hard that it bounced off my stomach. I think she surprised the doctor. We had a good laugh. It is such a good feeling to feel her moving around in there. Sometimes it hits me that there is an actual child inside me. What a weird, but amazing feeling. Then it hits me that she will be here in only 11 short weeks!!! Wow the time really does fly by!

Third Trimester!!!! - 28 Weeks

I am so excited to have started my third trimester today! The end is coming! Here is some info on 28 weeks.

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

Doctor Appointment Update

We finally had a doctor appointment after almost two months. The new hospital, nurses and doctor were amazing! I am now thankful we had to change!!!

We first met with a nurse. She sat us down and went through everything. This was never done at the previous hospital. It was nice to have someone talk you through all this new (being pregnant) information. Even though I am already 27 1/2 weeks along. After that I had my glucose test. I had to drink a real syrupy orange drink...that I actually enjoyed! I had a blood test an hour later. My number came back at 150, perfect! That means I don't have gestational diabetes!! Yeah!

I then met with the doctor. She wanted to learn all about Andy and I, and also told us a little about her. She went to school at the UofM and was actually Goldie the Gopher (the mascot) Funny! She measured me at 28 weeks and gave me another RhoGAM shot. I am Rh-negative so this means my blood may not mesh with babies blood, causing my body to fight it. This shot supposedly will help this. I had one at 8 weeks as well.

Our 4 hours at the hospital actually went fast, and good! :)

We have a doctor appointment tomorrow. It has been almost 2 months since our last one. Due to some insurance issues we had to change hospitals and doctors, and they couldn't get me in until this Thursday. I hope all everything is going well. The crib bedding came today. I couldnt wait to see what it looked like so I threw it on right away and snapped some pictures for you. It still needs to be washed and ironed before baby.

Shopping shopping and more shopping. I am a bit slower now days, and have to have a cart to lean on while doing it, but I managed to pick up a few things for the nursery this weekend. (Braxton Hicks are getting the best of me!)

I will be lining the insides of the dresser we bought with funky paper, so I was researching just how to do so. I stumbled upon this amazingly unique, green, mod annnnd totally awesome idea!

We purchased a shabby chic bookshelf from target tonight. Andy had it together as soon as we got home. The vintage dresser we bought is painted and in the room too. Now for a rocking chair. The room is starting to get tight, but I have to get a rocking chair in there. They are just so darn expensive, and everyone I talk to says to make sure it is a comfy one because it gets used a lot. If anyone has a glider rocker and wants to get rid of it let us know!!!

Now to buy pink knobs for the dresser and a soft rug for the floor. Bedding has been shipped! I cant wait to get it in the room.

After months of goggling crib bedding, Andy will be happy to hear I have finally purchased a set!! I think I have been talking about this with him for far to long. He was so sick of it! I decided to go with a shabby chic theme for the nursery. I am not into the character themed bedding there is so much of out there. Here is a photo of the set.

I got the crib skirt, fitted sheet, bumper and quilt. We will be purchasing a white crib soon! I cant wait to hit the antique stores now!

Andy finally felt our little one kicking last night. It is nice to be able to share a little of what it feels like to be pregnant with him. 100 more days from tomorrow and our angel will be here!

25 weeks

I am starting to really feel pregnant now!

Oh boy. I am scared to know what the next three month are to bring. I have been having back pains whenever I get up to do things. Hopefully this will go away or Andy will really have to be waiting on me hand and foot. Speaking of Andy. He has been absolutely amazing! Cooking, cleaning and just being patience with me. What a wonderful husband and Daddy to be.

Our first half of Christmas was great, I was out of it as normal, but it was nice to spend time with my Dad's side of the family and In-laws. Baby Larson got many new outfits that she cant wait to wear!

Our second half of Christmas is tomorrow at my Mom's house. It will be nice knowing I will be feeling good New Year's day since I cannot celebrate tonight! :)

Next to come is the nursery! I am so excited to get this started. We have a dresser and that is it! Oh boy the shopping that needs to be done!

So I think little miss larson has started to do flips in me. Her movement has gotten much stronger in the last couple of days. Oh I love it. It is such a reassuring feeling. :)

20 Weeks - Half Way THERE!

I cant believe that I am already half way done with my pregnancy. WooHoo!

We had our ultrasound on Monday Nov. 23rd. I think this little baby must have been on a sugar high from my waffles I had for breakfast. It was kicking, punching and rolling all around. I couldn't believe it because I couldn't feel it moving at all! It was so fun to see the little hands and feet and of course the heart pumping away. I wish we could do this at every checkup!!!

Anyways if you haven't heard the ultrasound tech said she is 95% sure it is a girl!!!!!!! Since she was moving so much she was having a hard time telling. Finally at the end the little one spread her legs for us. We are both so thrilled! All the measurements are normal and everything seems to be on track. Such good news!!!

17 week - Update

Just wanted to send a quick update. My blood work came back, and all is well. Thank goodness!!! I also got my H1N1 shot on Tuesday. I came to find out very quickly that the President was visiting the school next to my clinic!!! I have never seen so many police cars in my life. On my way home the president actually drove by me! So cool!

4 Months!

It is hard to believe I have been pregnant for 4 months already! I hope the next 4 months go as fast!

I feel just about normal again, and it is so nice. No more naps and having to eat every few hours to keep from getting sick. We had a doctor appointment Monday morning, and heard the heartbeat again. This time I showed the doctor where I thought I had felt movement a week ago. She placed the dopper on that spot, sure enough there was the heartbeat loud and clear. It was 147 this time. I can't remember what it was the last appointment because it took her so long to find it and it was so quite I could barely tell it was a heartbeat! I then had blood drawn to check for downs syndrome and any other problems. I didn't know I was getting this test, and am a little uneasy about it. They said the results will be in in a week, and if anything shows up I will have to go back in for more invasive tests. Pray that our little avocado (this is the size of the baby at 16weeks) is healthy!!!

Orange!!!!

The only craving I have had would be for oranges and orange juice. My snack last night was an orange, orange gel with mandarin oranges and a glass of orange juice! Yum!
They other day I ran to target to get a few things, along with a jug of OJ. I soo wanted to open that jug of orange juice up and drink it on the way home, but I held it together and made it the first thing I did when I walked in the door!

16 Week Development:
Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

Our next doctor appointment is scheduled for November 23rd! This is the biggie!! Ultrasound at 10:30 and if the little avocado cooperates we will see the sex!!! Doctor appointment to follow! Fun!

Second Trimester!!!

Yea! I am officially at 14 weeks. That puts me out of the dreaded 1st trimester. I cant believe how good, and normal I feel again. I am anxiously awaiting feeling flutters of baby!!!

Sorry no photos this week. I am on my last and final days of designing Snap Fitness' new corporate website. It is crunch time, and just a tad stressful! This is also my busiest time with the photography company. Fall is the time of year everyone things of getting family photos.

Andy is also in his busy season of sales. Leaving around 6 and not getting home until 7, he is usually sleeping on the couch after dinner. :)

Though things are a little stressful at the moment, we are very thankful for our jobs!

How your baby's growing:
This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.

In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

So if you don't know me, I love bargains!! I can spend hours digging through sale items, looking for that special treasure. (Andy loves this, mind you I don't do it while he is along! :) So my new thing is to check out the baby sections. Now is the time to buy summer clothes for next year. I have purchased a few outfit from $.98 to $4.00. We are not sure the sex of the baby yet, so I am buying both boy and girl items. They are just to cute and cheap to pass up. Below are a couple photos of babied closet, that is already filling up!!! You will see all the red sale tags hanging off the clothes.

The blankets you see to the right my grandma started making years ago and slowly giving to me for my children. The box on the right is clothes of mine when I was a baby that my Grandma kept stored away. FUN!!!

12 Weeks

I am finishing up my twelfth week of pregnancy, and boy am I starting to feel pregnant! I broke down and went to the Motherhood store. A store I said I never wanted to shop at. I always wished I could go though my pregnancy wearing my normal clothes. WELL I had no idea what I was talking about at that time!

I am so thankful I went and bought a few pairs of pants. They are the most comfortable things ever!!!

Wednesday we had a regular checkup, and heard the heartbeat. It took the doctor awhile to find it. She was just about to send us for an ultrasound until, we heard the fast beat going! Thank god everything is going well!

Here are photos of me at 12 weeks. You can see how much I have grown since 8 weeks. It is a big crazy if you ask me.
